The age of the Metaverse and cryptocurrency is approaching us at an accelerated rate. I made this piece to portray this rapid modernization from analog to digital reality. This video periodically loops in and out of the human and into the robotic landscape.

The most natural aesthetic shift I could think of between the two hands (human and robot) would be a "glitch". Along with the hand change, the coin rolled between the fingers would change from cents to Bitcoin and visa versa.

We decided to go with Style 1 as its easier on the eyes. The sketched quality also adds to the narrative without having to linguistically introduce the context. Style 1 also had this Victorian quality that made it the more interesting choice.

The image on the left was studied and rotoscoped to anatomically capture this coin trick. After drawing the human version of the trick, I drew on top of the human hand; adding the robot features.

I decided to simplify the detail of the wall in the background as I wanted to place more focus on the hand. I also opted to have a background with one predominating green color to make it less complex.

The Glitch Background would increase in complexity as the project progressed. Above and to the left has differing regions of grey, every shift in tone indicates that a different video sampled would be overlayed in that region. I wanted to really convey the the chaos of a glitch in this background, but I had to maintain a structured approach to its composition
